Honey and Cake in Tuscany- A Dreamy Styled Shoot to Inspire Your Wedding
Is there anything more romantic than the Tuscon countryside?
Well, maybe there is, but you have to admit it's up there.
This styled shoot organized by Honey & Thyme oozes old-world charm and sunshine.
Lucky for me, I got to be a part of it.
Planning your wedding is about finding the things you love and making them come to life.
We can't all afford to travel to Tuscany for our big day, but that doesn't mean you can't have the experience.
With a dream and a little bit of creativity, a hotel in South Carolina can become a villa in Tuscany. A table setting can transport you back in time. A cake can make you think of honey and sunsets.

I had such a fun time making the cake for this shoot, and I have to say I'm a bit jealous this wasn't my wedding. The combination of location and styling made it feel like a real Tuscan getaway.
The focus around honey was cute without being childish. The warm yellows and earth tones throughout the decore made the event feel like watching a sunset. The whole affair was elegant and whimsical.
The cake needed to strike that same balance, and I'm so happy with how it turned out.
I decided to go with a simple two-tiered cake with white frosting to create a classic base. Leaving the top edge raw introduced a rustic feeling. From there, it was easy.
I used the tremendous color pallet created for the event to etch a subtle honeycomb on the outside. Then I finished the design with my classic pallet knife flowers.
Sometimes less is more, and this was one of those times.
Seeing my cake alongside the decore was a happy moment. All the other vendors did such a fantastic job.
The location was beautiful, and the photographers killed it.
I'm so grateful to have been a part of this shoot, and I can wait for the next one.
